Marauders Close the First Week With Scrimmages at Keene

The Marauders finished a solid first week of preseason with four productive scrimmage matches at Keene High School, with the Varsity and JV groups (not teams, yet) playing both Keene and Con-Val, one of the stronger D2 programs.

The JV group beat Con-Val 7-0, with goals by Will Ermarth, Theo Sparks, Oscar, Alex Stephens, Henry Aspinwall (2), and Sachin Rampersand. Henry got two helpers, as did Jack Ross. Anthony Maynes and Jackson Lake had single assists. Linus Mayo gave Hanover a 1-0 lead against Keene, converting a rebound from a Quincy McBride shot.

The Varsity group beat Con-Val 1-0 on a goal by Christo Dragnev. Andre Enelow earned the clean sheet in goal, with Dillon Bradley preserving the white wash, heading a ball off the goal line. In the second game against Keene, Hanover conceded a very early goal, and went down 2-0 before David Stoffel notched a penalty kick, which he earned with a nifty run into the box. Hans Williams was very solid in goal.

All players get a well-deserved two days off this weekend. The Varsity roster will be posted Saturday night, and will head to Windridge camp on Monday morning at 7:00. Tryouts will resume for all subvarsity players on Monday and Tuesday at 10:00 at the Pasture.
